Knowledge AI for business: RAG & citations

Your company knowledge answers questions – with citations. I make manuals, contracts, standards and tickets searchable and answerable – built for GDPR-compliant operation, with citations down to the page.

What it is about

Knowledge AI based on RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) means that a language model answers questions not from its training data but from your own documents: manuals, contracts, standards, tickets or wikis are indexed, relevant passages are retrieved for each question and the answer is generated with a citation. What matters is the citation down to page and section – only then can employees verify an answer and use it responsibly in the business. Scattered documents become a knowledge base that employees can query in natural language.

This matters for mid-sized companies and corporations now because knowledge sits in people’s heads, PDFs and shared drives and can be lost with every staff change. Public chatbots are off-limits for sensitive data, and answers without a source are worthless. Typical mistakes are chatbots that invent plausible-sounding answers, missing permission and tenant separation, and unclear data flows outside the EU. In law firms, clinics or critical infrastructure, such a project then fails on data protection and compliance. And without quality measurement, nobody knows how often the system is right.

I built my own knowledge AI for GDPR-compliant operation, anirag.io, which backs every answer with a source down to page and section – no source, no answer. The platform indexed 12,000 PDFs in around 30 seconds and answers with a p99 latency under 800 ms. An LLM router chooses between Anthropic, OpenAI (EU), Mistral and Aleph Alpha, and on-premise is possible for critical infrastructure, clinics and law firms. After the source audit, the first knowledge space is typically ready in weeks two to three. DPA and TOMs are included.

Who it is for

  • Law firms, clinics and industrial companies with sensitive documents and strict compliance requirements
  • Companies whose knowledge is stuck in PDFs, shared drives and the heads of individual experts
  • Service and support teams that need faster answers from manuals and tickets
  • Critical infrastructure operators that must run a knowledge AI on-premise

Sound familiar?

  • Knowledge is stuck in people’s heads, PDFs and shared drives
  • Public chatbots are off-limits for sensitive data
  • Answers without a source are worthless in a business

What you get

  • Knowledge AI with citations down to page and section
  • Connectors for PDF, Office, wikis, tickets, video and podcasts
  • LLM router for Anthropic, OpenAI (EU), Mistral, Aleph Alpha
  • SSO, roles and tenant separation
  • Optional on-premise for critical infrastructure, clinics and law firms

FAQ

Questions & answers

Will my data leave Europe?

Not if you don’t want it to. Hosting in Germany and European models are possible, as is on-premise.

How do you reduce made-up answers?

Every answer is backed by sources down to page and section; without a matching source the system does not answer. Because a cited answer can still be wrong, we keep measuring answer and citation accuracy with test questions.

Which formats are supported?

PDF, Office, wikis, tickets, websites, video and podcasts in more than 90 languages.

How quickly is a knowledge AI ready?

In week one we review sources, permissions and the EU AI Act risk class. In weeks two to three a first knowledge space is ready for your team to test with real questions. Rollout with SSO, permissions and training follows in weeks four to six.

What does a knowledge AI cost?

That depends on data volume, sources and operating model – hosting in Germany or on-premise. After the source audit you receive a fixed-price offer. I check funding programmes in the first call.
